One family business, seven towns, no shop
Mobile Carpets & Flooring Shop is part of Floor Coverings Local, a family-run flooring company with more than 30 years in the trade. Rather than rent showrooms, we take our samples out to people's homes across the region.
That keeps our overheads low and our prices down. It also means you're choosing with your own light, furniture and décor around you — which is where a floor actually has to look right.
- Free, no-obligation home visit, measure and quote
- Every floor type, brought on the same visit
- Our own fitting team
- Screeding and ply boarding when a floor needs it

Kathryn K. · Google review, Sept 2023
So happy with floor coverings local! Had all downstairs (kitchen, hall, w/c & living room) fully laminated last week. Took the fitter 2 full days, he worked so hard! Absolute pleasure to have in our home and over the moon with the results and the price! Would 100% recommend.
Lauren H. · Google review, Aug 2023
Brilliant service, very quick and easy from making our first enquiry to getting a quote and getting it fitted. We had a full house fitted with both carpet and laminate. Everything was explained to us clearly and no hidden charges. The day of the fitting went very smoothly. The fitters arrived as arranged and were hardworking and got the whole house done very quickly to a very high standard. I would highly recommended floor coverings local.
Claire S. · Google review, Aug 2023

Common questions
Which parts of Yorkshire do you cover?
South and West Yorkshire — Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley, plus Wakefield, Castleford and Pontefract, and the towns and villages around them. If you're near the edge of that area, call 0800 920 2092 and we'll tell you whether we can reach you.
Should I call this number or my local one?
Either works. 0800 920 2092 reaches us wherever you live in the region, and each of our town sites lists a local number too. The service, prices and deals are the same.
What floors can you bring to my home?
Carpet, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and laminate. We bring real samples of each, so you can plan a whole house — carpet upstairs, hard floors downstairs — in one visit.
What does a home visit cost?
Nothing. The visit, measure and written quote are free, and you're under no obligation to go ahead.
Can I spread the cost?
We don't offer finance, so there's no monthly plan — our focus is on keeping the up-front price low. Payment is by any major credit or debit card, or cash.
Who does the fitting?
Our own fitters. We also handle floor preparation, including screeding and ply boarding, so your new floor goes down on a flat, sound base.
